heartbeats is a dance performance inspired by the human heart which combines a mixture of heartbeat sounds and improvised body movements. The abstracted figure alludes to early footage of the single celled organisms and the microbial movements.

 

The heartbeat is the pulse and rhythm of our life and it changes and grows with us through time. It is often a sound we forget to listen to in others and ourselves. The sound of the heartbeat grows through time, beginning with the beat of the heart inside the womb to the last sound heard before death, showing the expansion and collapse of a single life.
